RB Leipzig – FC Koln Free Betting Tips

Perhaps not too many conclusions should be drawn from RB Leipzig’s 3-2 loss to champions Bayern Munich on the final matchday, but their three-match winning streak in the Bundesliga at the start of 2022 should be drawn, suggesting that eventually they have managed to improve their performance under new coach Domenico Tedesco. Just three points out of the Champions League places, all three of Leipzig’s league wins this year were emphatic victories by two or more goals and that seems to be a trademark this season — it has been the case in eight of their nine wins in the Bundesliga this season.

Although the ‘Red Bulls’ have never suffered more than one defeat at home in the league at this stage of the season, on only one occasion have they won more than their eight wins so far this season (P3). Despite helping them to 77% of their total points at home this campaign, the big news in German football is that Leipzig (along with other clubs) have taken legal action to try to get more support at home, currently restricted to 1,000 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Cologne sit one place above their rivals (G8, D8, P5) after beating Freiburg, and are now just one point fewer at this stage than they were in 2016/2017, in what was their best season this century ( fifth place). Much of their success this campaign has been based on strong second-half performances, with five of their eight Bundesliga wins coming after they were level at half-time.
Undefeated in three games against Leipzig (G1, D2), Cologne also have five games without defeat away from home this season (G2, D3), in a streak that represents 82% of their total points on rival soil. . Three of those five games saw Cologne bounce back after conceding the opening goal, so the stubborn ‘Billy Goats’ can’t be ruled out even if they start behind.
